Okay, just a short blurb. So I did Tapout XT today, I LOVED it! I got it at my work on clearance then with my discount, I saved a few bucks on it. But if anyone is apprehensive in doing it, I totally recommend it, it was a blast! I did the core workout today and holy shit, by the end of it, I was sweating and feeling it. I’ve been using it as my cardio to shake things up a bit and today was my first day trying it. My sore ankle wasn’t too pleased about it but I did it all the way through. Gonna be doing the upper body on Wednesday and I’ll probably post about that too.
Yahoo, back once again to fill up my queue and just do a general update.
I’m doing fantastic, after beating another upper respiratory tract infection, I’m hitting the weights again. It sucks having an autoimmune disease because even a little cold can knock me flat on my back for seven days. But I’m back to my normal self, thank god!
In other news, I’m rocking my classes that I have this semester. Kinesiology is probably the hardest class, the easiest has been my Fitness motivation and behavioral class. Nutrition for athletes is like a re-run of my previous nutrition class but been teaching me a few more tricks. But I’m enjoying all of them!
I just found out today though that my Aunt’s old trainer at her gym quit to go back to a job with benefits so she got a new trainer today and didn’t even re-evaluate her for her injuries and limitations and pushed her way too hard and actually messed up her back and shoulder again. On top of that, he made fun of her while working with her today. Can you just say dickweed? That is one sure-fire way to lose clientele and get your certification revoked. She’s going to talk to the manager and ditch the new trainer, which I told her she needs to do because that isn’t right.
Trainers like that piss me off hugely. Just because you have the power to help someone, there is NO WAY you should abuse your power and humiliate the person you are trying to HELP. That is NOT helping. Seriously, when I get into the field, if I find out that a trainer I’m working with is doing that. I have no problem blowing the whistle and reporting it. Just like what my behavioral teacher said, “we’re helping our clients make new and healthy habits and when we aren’t even practicing that, we’re not helping them. We’re actually setting them back.” It’s true, and this guy maybe needs to think about a career change.
